CONTACT LENS FAQS
WHY DO YOU NEED MY CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTION?
We require your contact lens prescription in order to
supply you with the same contact lenses as prescribed for you
by your contact lens practitioner as you are used to wearing.
It’s the same concept as a repeat prescription for
medication ie your doctor must send your repeat prescription
to your pharmacy before they can provide you with your usual
medication. The reason we need to have your prescription from
your opticians is to ensure that a professional sees you at
regular intervals (usually 6 months/ 1 year) wearing your
contact lenses to check that they are not causing any problems
with the health of your eyes.
Therefore, it is a legal require that we must see your
contact lens prescription before we can supply you with
lenses. You can either fax us your contact lens prescription
or we can obtain it if you provide us with your optician’s
details when you order from us. We will then keep it on record
until it expires.
A contact lens prescription is not the same as your
prescription for spectacles; it is more specific it states the
exact power, size and type of lenses that have been prescribed
for you.
WHAT IS A CONTACT LENS PRESCRIPTION?
A contact lens prescription contains the power, base curve
(BC) and diameter (DIA) of your lenses. If you wear toric
lenses, it will also contain the cylinder power and axs you
require. All of this information is also present on the lens
packaging as well as on the contact lens prescription.

DO YOU SELL CHEAP CONTACT LENSES?
No. We sell exactly the same branded contact lenses and
solutions as other high street opticians. High volumes of
customers and low overheads mean that we can offer these
products to you for less than available elsewhere.
CAN I PURCHASE MY CONTACT LENSES FROM YOU IF I USE
OWN-BRANDED LENSES AND SOLUTIONS (EG Boots, Specsavers
etc…)?
Yes, for own-branded lenses are simply the same
named/branded lenses that we stock however, they have been
repackaged by Boots, Specsavers etc…These companies do not
manufacture their own lenses thy simply buy them form the same
manufacturers that we also use however, they have them
supplied in their own packaging. So you will receive exactly
the same product from us simply with the manufacturer’s own
packaging rather than Specsavers, Boots etc…

CAN I TRY A DIFFERENT TYPE OF LENS (eg daily disposable or
a less expnsive brand)?
We can only supply you with the contact lenses you have
been fitted with. Therefore, if you would like to try a
different type of lens eg daily disposable or would like to
try a different brand you must have a fitting with a contact
lens practitioner. A fitting usually costs approximately
£20.
Once we have the contact lens prescription we can then
supply you with lenses.
